TECHNOLOGY DIFFERENTIATION

The NanoVes System is differentiated from other drug delivery technologies and systems in the following ways:

1. It is biodegradable.
Because it is composed of mainly natural occurring elements, it differs from most other nanotechnology products in that it is completely biodegradable. The biodegradable nature of the NanoVes provides an important reduction in the potential toxicity risks typically associated with delivery technologies.

2. It is can be masked from the body’s immune system.
This bio-nano carrier can be protected by a proprietary sialic acid masking molecule that allows the carrier and its contents to traverse the patients’ circulation without fear of attack by the patients’ own immune system. This feature enables increased circulatory time in the patient.

3. It is targeted and penetrates the cell.
The NanoVes System is very stable and can withstand endocytosis to allow cell penetration, a key factor in its ability to deliver drug payloads to specific cells.

4. It delivers hundreds of payload molecules per carrier.
The NanoVes System is designed to bind to a high number of pharmaceutical active molecules that range in size from amino acids to complete peptides and proteins (including antibodies and enzymes), enabling the targeting of very potent constructs to individual cells. This is in direct contrast to more common delivery strategies that are able to bind only one active molecule to each targeting molecule.

The benefit of the NanoVes System is that it is the only system of which we are aware that is able to successfully deliver critical volumes of proteins and peptides orally in doses that are similar to their injectable counterparts.

Importantly, this technology is able to navigate between cells and to protect most of the active ingredient being carried, thus permitting smaller payloads to be considered equivalent to the current standard of care for similar injectables. Additionally, as a result of minimizing the active ingredient circulation, we can improve the corresponding side effects profile.
