Drug Delivery Challenges

TNT Pharma is developing the NanoVes System to solve two fundamental problems that vex major segments of the worldwide pharmaceutical industry:

Problem 1 is that most drugs are not targeted to the specific cells where disease is resident, which leads to chronic overdosing of healthy cells and tissues while often under-dosing of disease targets. The NanoVes System is specifically designed to address this problem by using bio-nano-carriers that incorporate a variety of proprietary cell targeting molecules. In both oral and injectable dose forms, the need for cell specific targeting is addressed by the NanoVes System.

Problem 2 is that essentially all protein and peptide drugs, a category which represents most biotechnology based therapeutics and which totals many billions of dollars per year in pharmaceutical revenues, must be dosed via injections. This dosing constraint is due to the fact that proteins and peptides are easily digested by the stomach, an action which severely limits or destroys the drugs’ activity in the patient. The NanoVes System is specifically designed to protect protein and peptide therapeutics in a way that enables them to successfully reach the post-stomach circulatory system.
